New contribution to Totally Novel on writing, update on Sweet Sixteen Killer

I've been pretty quiet lately on the blog, sorry about that. I've been laying mostly low, though I did recently begin contributing to a new website for writers and readers called Totally Novel. My first contribution for members of the site is a post I titled 3 things that prevented me from writing a novel. To read the post, sign up for a free trial. Take a look around and if you don't wanna stay, don't renew membership. That said, it's a pretty cool effort being put together by a former Google+ member like myself. As a matter of fact there are several members on the site from the old Google+ days. (Side note: there is a free membership option)
I will be contributing to the Totally Novel blog bi-monthly for now. My next addition will be in August. I'm super excited for the site and I hope you can come join us and become a part of the groups, forums, blog, workshops, and more.
All that said, I haven't given up here. This is still my primary site and blog. 👊

Editing my backside off on the first book in my female detective series. Tonight I've got it down to 3 chapters and an epilogue. Phew... this will be draft 2, and hopefully a readable one. That's the plan. Something I can read and decide if I'm doing good. If I'm on the wrong track, or if I'm missing anything. And a few special beta readers might get a chance to read and let me know if I've really jacked up or not.

But for now, I'm feeling great because I'm almost at a huge milestone for this piece. And because it's a huge milestone for me. I've never been able to follow through this much on a single book before. This will be the first time I've ever had a book complete enough that it will be readable. I'm feeling pretty good about that.

And to celebrate, here's a song that's sort of an anthem for a supporting role in the book series. She's named Perry Cate and a journalist. She makes her debut in the first book. She's very new to me, but I love her a lot. She's gonna be a great character and I hope you all will feel the same way when you meet her.
