Finally watched Kong: Skull Island. I don't normally want to see these kinds of flicks, big monster flicks (especially remade ones). And I've avoided the recent Godzilla stuff. But this one looked good from the first trailer that dropped. And I was not disappointed. It had a lot more going on then the trailers even implied, which was nice.

Also, I thought I was gonna hate John C. Riley's character based on the trailers. But his turned out to be one of the best, most developed characters in the whole film.

Sometimes I personify food my son is about to put in his mouth. I probably shouldn't do that.

ME: That's just a little guy.

Word this.

Editing my backside off on the first book in my female detective series. Tonight I've got it down to 3 chapters and an epilogue. Phew... this will be draft 2, and hopefully a readable one. That's the plan. Something I can read and decide if I'm doing good. If I'm on the wrong track, or if I'm missing anything. And a few special beta readers might get a chance to read and let me know if I've really jacked up or not.

But for now, I'm feeling great because I'm almost at a huge milestone for this piece. And because it's a huge milestone for me. I've never been able to follow through this much on a single book before. This will be the first time I've ever had a book complete enough that it will be readable. I'm feeling pretty good about that.

And to celebrate, here's a song that's sort of an anthem for a supporting role in the book series. She's named Perry Cate and a journalist. She makes her debut in the first book. She's very…

His quote about condos and real estate on the beaches of North Korea is a little telling. Nothing that shouts conflict of interest or nefarious dealings there. Cool story bro.

Kim is apparently honorable. Apparently. News to his victims I'm sure.

And that memory, so bigly.

A real, stupid conversation. This happened.

A dude to me: You're old enough to remember when people weren't pussies. You know what I mean?
Me: There's vaginas everywhere just walking around? Really?Dude: Shut up, you know what I mean.Me: (still feigning surprise) I did not know this.(And then he gave up talking to me and turned to someone else he thought would agree with him and listen to his drivel.)And yes, I did know what he meant. And it's a stupid talking point. Empathy does not make us weak. It makes us stronger.

I've only just now realized Swedish actor Michael Nyqvist passed away last year from lung cancer at 56. And I'm super bummed about this. I loved watching him work.

You may recognize him from the Swedish produced Girl with Dragon Tattoo films, Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, or John Wick. But he'd been making films for years before that, obviously.

At least we'll always have his villain in John Wick. He was a combination of nasty and goofy. It's a fun performance to watch.

The Early Bird.

The Early Bird.

My son is an early bird and they say that the early bird gets the worm. That's why as a parent I have to get up with him, so he doesn't eat worms.
