New contribution to Totally Novel on writing, update on Sweet Sixteen Killer

I've been pretty quiet lately on the blog, sorry about that. I've been laying mostly low, though I did recently begin contributing to a new website for writers and readers called Totally Novel. My first contribution for members of the site is a post I titled 3 things that prevented me from writing a novel. To read the post, sign up for a free trial. Take a look around and if you don't wanna stay, don't renew membership. That said, it's a pretty cool effort being put together by a former Google+ member like myself. As a matter of fact there are several members on the site from the old Google+ days. (Side note: there is a free membership option)
I will be contributing to the Totally Novel blog bi-monthly for now. My next addition will be in August. I'm super excited for the site and I hope you can come join us and become a part of the groups, forums, blog, workshops, and more.
All that said, I haven't given up here. This is still my primary site and blog. 👊

About a story and updates

I've been awfully quiet on the eastern front lately. Lots of other things have been engulfing my time as of late. But when I can, since October, I've been working on a short story for my good friend Jessica Wright. It was part of my I Will Kill You for $5 project, but I was giving it away as a thank you for her and her boyfriend helping out with recording my first ever comedy gig. Well, what should have been a quick short story, has been getting longer and longer, and more complex as I go.

As of today, I'm nearing the 10,000 word mark, which will make it the longest short story I've ever written to date (or a novella).

It's fun, exciting, and I really do think I'm going to enjoy it when it's done. It's a mystery, per her request. I've been having way too much fun with it apparently, because I haven't been able to keep the wordcount down to a minimum like I usually can in these stories.

All that being said, soon I will be sharing it and hopefully you will enjoy it. It will also be the longest story in the project to date, so it'll be a nice edition to the freebies for you all to read on your eBook reader of choice.

The project moving forward

And, to ask for some input, for those of you who have participated or are just happy readers of the project, how would you feel if I put them all together? In one, long eBook? And with extended versions of the stories? Yes, extended versions! Many of the stories I've written thus far, I took shortcuts on to meet my deadline. There were other scenes and things I wanted to do with the stories, but trimmed them for time sake.

Any rate, this is something I've been thinking of doing, and I'd appreciate any feedback on that. Would you buy it, if I got a publisher to pick it up?

That being said... the project is still open. Just head here on Fiverr to join in.
