New contribution to Totally Novel on writing, update on Sweet Sixteen Killer

I've been pretty quiet lately on the blog, sorry about that. I've been laying mostly low, though I did recently begin contributing to a new website for writers and readers called Totally Novel. My first contribution for members of the site is a post I titled 3 things that prevented me from writing a novel. To read the post, sign up for a free trial. Take a look around and if you don't wanna stay, don't renew membership. That said, it's a pretty cool effort being put together by a former Google+ member like myself. As a matter of fact there are several members on the site from the old Google+ days. (Side note: there is a free membership option)
I will be contributing to the Totally Novel blog bi-monthly for now. My next addition will be in August. I'm super excited for the site and I hope you can come join us and become a part of the groups, forums, blog, workshops, and more.
All that said, I haven't given up here. This is still my primary site and blog. 👊

Deep Thought #8

Deep Thought #8

What if the 2016 presidential election is a reality show? What if we're voting who gets off the island? What if eventually they'll all have to do crazy, extreme things like eat elephant testicles? What if Congress is the producers who can't make up their minds about what should be in the show, and in the end will demand cuts be made to meet a PG-13 rating?

Train Jumper by Catching the Westbound

Train Jumper by Catching the Westbound

I made a commitment this year to record at least one song and upload it every time I go watch some indie musician or band. So far, I've stayed strong on that commitment. I'll be sharing them in this Collection. All will be in black and white and likely St. Louis folks.

This is an original by Catching the Westbound (Emily and Andy). They are friends I've made since moving to the St. Louis area. They are incredibly talented. Enjoy.

Office Bullying

Office Bullying

Here is my article on office bullying. It felt like it took a long time to write. It did take longer, but honestly it wasn't that bad. I spent about five hours researching, outlining and writing. That's longer than usual for me to write an article, though honestly not bad.

When I first started on the subject, I felt like I didn't know anything about it. But as I researched, I realized I knew it all too well. Though I had always viewed office bullying as straight up harassment in the workplace. I talk a little about that in the article.

- Working with bullies

- Decisions, decisions

- "Harassment by any other name is still harassment”

- Human Resources can be devoid of human compassion sometimes

- "Victim, heal thyself!"

- Bureaucracy is a four letter word

Let me know what you think in the comments or at the link on Medium. How has your experience been with office bullying? Have you ever been on the receiving end? Have you ever dished i…
