Audiobooks and Android Auto support

Audiobooks and Android Auto support If you like listening to audio books and have, or want, Android Auto, here's a reason to rejoice. Audiobooks.com app now supports Android Auto. Pretty snazzy. #reading   #audiobook   #androidapps   #androidauto   http://www.androidpolice.com/2015/07/30/audiobooks-com-becomes-the-first-audio-book-app-with-android-auto-support/

Trending topics on Google+, Facebook and Twitter at the same time.

Image
Trending topics on Google+, Facebook and Twitter at the same time. I was on Facebook and saw this lovely and strange trending list, and rolled my eyes. The things that trend on Facebook often make me roll my eyes. So I decided to take screenshots of Google+, Facebook and Twitter to see what was trending across all three at the same time. I'm not the first one to do this, and won't be the last, but the trending topics to me are always an indicator of how social networks get used. Facebook topics: Reading gossip? Twitter: Celebrities and chatting around a hashtag. Google: News, topics, and other ways to connect around discussions. Plus, the ever lively community things like #FF  and #TGIF . #social   #socailmedia   #twitter   #facebook   #googleplus

The End is Nigh for Google+ (this is sarcasm)

The End is Nigh for  Google+  ( this is sarcasm ) Today, Google+ announced it will be removing the requirement of a Google+ account for various Google products such as YouTube. As we know, Google+ is a ghost town, the Walking Dead, and (I think) that means no one ueses it. We know this, but despite that we already know this, we're going to discuss how this announcement today is the nail in the coffin of a dead horse which Google has been beating for sometime.  Now it's dead. Now it's over. Despite the fact that it was dead on arrival, has been dead for sometime, and dies ever year just for spite. Not even sure why we would bother posting this on Google+, as it's clearly a dead platform. -- Sincerely,  Just about any "tech news" site today #googleplus

I hate that #BlackLivesMatter is trending currently

Image
I hate that  #BlackLivesMatter is trending currently I hate it when it trends on any social network ever. Why? Because it means there's still a problem. If it wasn't an issue, it wouldn't be trending. It's an issue and that's the sad part. Why? Because racism lives. Because prejudice lives. Because hate lives. And the worst part of all is that the discussion around the hashtag predominantly revolves around cops. Bad cops. There is such a thing as bad cops, just as much as there is such a thing as good ones. And the sooner we understand that and start addressing the issue of bad cops, and the system that supports bad cops, the sooner we push back against this nonsense. And the sooner we can stop having to see #blacklivesmatter  as a trending hashtag.  Peace out.

Poem. Because, poetry. An excellent shorty from someone else.

The Fidel Castro look. I hear it's coming back into style, so I decided to get a jumpstart on it.

Religion, Politics and Discrimination in the Workplace

Religion, Politics and Discrimination in the Workplace I don't normally write about such sensitive issues, but after recent events in American politics it has become very prevalent that we discuss or at least give some thought to such matters.  Table of Contents: - You represent your place of work at work - You represent your place of work away from work, even on the web - One last thing to think about... Do you know the policy in your workplace regarding discussing such hot topics? How does your workplace deal with such issues? #religion   #politics   #workplace   #discrimination   -- NOTE: I am writing articles for CareerAddict these days, and if you'd like to get notified when I post a new one, let me know in the comments and I can add you to a CareerAddict Readers circle for receiving notifications.  http://www.careeraddict.com/20918/religion-politics-and-discrimination-in-the-workplace

Musical Writing Prompt #7

Sometimes inspiration can come from weird places. Or sometimes you're trying to find the right mood or groove for a certain scene in a book. And sometimes that can take us off the beaten path. So, for today, the music writing prompt might throw you off a bit, but all music has it's place for inspiration. Today, it's all about the groove and it turns out that Groove is in the Heart , according to Dee-Lite. That's right, we're getting some solid 90s digs. Blame it on Google, because I've been listening to one of their 90s channels all day and it played. I hadn't heard the song in ages and now can't get it out of my head, and now I challenge you to come up with something to the song. [embed]https://vimeo.com/10933771[/embed] How do you say, "De-Groovey?" How do you say, "De-Gorgeous?" Now get to work and write, my butterflies! WRITE! Once upon a time, I lipped Debbie Reynolds

Once upon a time, I lipped Debbie Reynolds True story. When I was a senior in high school, I performed (lipped) a Debbie Reynolds outtake version of You are my Lucky Star from the film Singing in the Rain . Many an hour were spent in the living room alone, with the stereo blaring the song, while I crafted this little performance piece. It was stupid fun to perform and one of my favorite parts about using the song for a lipsync was that in the middle of it she does a spoken word part.  ENJOY. https://vid.me/e/Daw0
